Meet the Furkids – Asia, Bruno, Maxwell and Oscar, four rescued dogs that live together, with their parents, in their forever home.   Brought together thanks to the hard work and dedication of those in the animal rescue community.  The Furkids are grateful to those that helped them find their forever home and know that they are incredibly lucky to have been rescued from their respective situations.  They realize that without the animal rescue community they may not have been so fortunate.  The Furkids founded their company as a way to promote humane animal rescue organizations and lend financial support to them so that they can carry out their life saving work and rescue animals from situations similar to those they were once rescued from.

Asia
Asia was rescued 10 years ago as a puppy from an irresponsible backyard breeding operation.   She was separated from her mother at a very young age and was severely neglected, all of which had adverse physical and emotional affects on her.  She was rescued and rehabilitated and has come a long way from her days of being fearful and unsure of humans.  As a Doberman Pinscher, Asia has also dealt with the stigma of being a so-called “Bully Breed” despite her calm and gentle demeanor.  Asia is dedicated to educating the public about irresponsible breeders and to promoting Dobermans and other breeds that have unfortunately developed a negative stigma due to misleading and inaccurate statistics and labels.

Bruno
Bruno was rescued as a puppy from a puppy mill.  Like Asia, he was separated from his mother at a young age and learned that as a little guy, he needed to be tough, which is how he got his “tough guy” name.  Rescued from the puppy mill, Bruno settled into his forever home and learned that there were millions of dogs like him that were forced to live in deplorable conditions in puppy mills across the United States.  All grown up, Bruno is determined to ending the day where little pups like himself have to grow up fast and act tough while growing up in a puppy mill.  Bruno is devoted to educating the public about the truth behind puppy mills and pet stores.

Maxwell
Maxwell was rescued from a kill shelter in Philadelphia by a wonderful New Jersey rescue that has helped thousands of animals find their forever homes.  At four months old, Maxwell was dropped off at the overcrowded inner-city shelter after being purchased as a Christmas present that lost its novelty in three weeks time.  Frightened, confused and on the verge of being euthanized due to the constant influx of surrendered cats and dogs, Maxwell’s life was changed forever when the founder of Animal Alliance picked him to fill an opening at the New Jersey rescue.  Maxwell soon found his forever home and the family he always knew he had.  Maxwell is committed to promoting pet retention, shelter adoptions, no-kill shelters and looks forward to the day where there will be no more homeless pets.

Oscar
Oscar is the newest Furkid.  Oscar was found living in a junkyard – alone and scared.  He had obviously been neglected for a period of time, as his long fur was dirty and matted to his skin.  Oscar doesn’t remember how he arrived at the junkyard, but only recalls his days spent searching for food and water in the sweltering summer sun and seeking refuge from the elements under the junkyard’s rusted car frames.  After being discovered in the junkyard by a woman who was there to feed a feral cat colony, Oscar’s life was changed forever.  At the time, little did Oscar know that this woman, who had left him with food, water and shelter, was experienced with and committed to rescuing homeless and at risk animals just like him.  Karen, Oscar’s rescuer, quickly networked with others in the animal rescue community and almost immediately found his forever home where she knew he’d never go without food, water or shelter again.  Oscar likes to tell his story to show others how a life can be transformed through simple acts of kindness.  Oscar is dedicated to barking on behalf of neglected, abused and abandoned animals everywhere.
